



Muaythai stole the hearts of Beijing on the Cultural Night. The
Royal Thai Embassy, in conjunction with IFMA and the World Muaythai
Council, organised a Cultural Night to demonstrate all aspects of
muaythai as a way of life. The night proved to be a spectacular hit
as over 50 embassies took part together with members of
SportAccord, IOC, martial art federations and other important
guests such as the President of SportAccord Mr. Hein Verbruggen,
and Ron Froelich, President of the World Games, and so many
others.




The event was in two parts, with initially a cocktail reception
with speeches from His Excellency the Ambassador from the Royal
Thai Embassy in Beijing, The President of IFMA, the Chairman of the
Thai Senate Sport Committee.
The second part was a stage performance hosted by World Champion
Clifton Brown, showcasing traditions in muay boran, wai khru, and
the ever entertaining crowd participation of muaythai games.




There were many celebrities in the crowd, like Don the Dragon
Wilson; Sambo Champion Fedor Emelyanenko, who all gave highest
praises. The highlight of the evening was the official ceremony
awarding the Mongkol to the President of the World Games and the
President of SportAccord, a gift from all the 128 muaythai member
countries in recognition of their honorary status in our muaythai
family.
