With the recent floods in Thailand and the on-going displacement of many people within the country, we would like to extend our condolences to those who have suffered during this time. Many people from the Muaythai family and beyond have had to endure hardships and shortages during this crisis and our thoughts are with them. With this is in mind, the proceeds of the "Rebuild Thailand" Fight Night will be donated to help with this endeavor.
Since 1997 Ultimate Muaythai Fights (UMF) is the official International Muaythai circuit which brings you the ultimate Muaythai fights in South Africa with world and local title belts sanctioned by the World Muaythai body WMC (World Muaythai Council) and IFMA(International Federation of Muaythai Amateurs). UMF has the most exciting action packed Muaythai events on the continent of Africa. With this we have an ongoing social responsibility with our disadvantage youths of today. The UMF circuit is also a platform for the disadvantage youths of today not only do the youths have a chance of excelling in the sport but Dragon Power Promotions donates a % of the profit of each event to the Muaythai Against Drugs Foundation. Dragon power promotions been hosting 'Dragon Legends MMA' (DL) circuit to the Fight Night shows since 2003 bringing you the best of the best MMA fighters from around the world battling it out for rankings and world titles staged here locally on the South African soil making this world Circuit proudly South African. Sifu Kru Quentin "Dragon" Chong was living in Vegas with and personal Muaythai trainer of 6x time UFC Champion Randy "the Natural" Couture. As well as having been in the corner and training of many of the top MMA fighters competing in UFC, Strikeforce and other Big promotions. He brings years of promotions experience and the ability to bring top fighters from around the world to compete on the DL MMA Circuit. Safety is a top priority and is promoted at all DL MMA events.
The host for this prestige event will be the ever entertaining Tapfuma "Twinkle Toes" Makina from 'Way of the Warrior' & Radio personality and special guest Gary Trappler vice President of IFMA, Zola Hashatsi from Craze (ETV Kids TV Show) will be shooting segment for his show and many other international and local sporting, modeling, radio hosts, TV and other celeb personalities to be seen.
There will be fighters from all over the country descending on Cape Town for this event: Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg to compete in their respective circuits and take back the glory for their home towns.
There will be a variety of artists performing and entertaining you, from the world's #1 Ubuntu Break dancers, the Amy Beihl & YLTP development youth drummers and of course no other than South Africa's internationally renowned DJ Tariq Khan
