The last time UMF & DL MMA entered Grandwest's
GrandArena was to celebrate the finale fight of Mnet Action's
reality hit series Way of The Warrior, where the winner of the
fight was anointed the title of being the ultimate African warrior.
Now, UMF Muaythai & DL MMA Fight Night will take on a whole new
meaning on 10th March 2012 as the Dragons raise the bar and
continue to go down in history by stepping back into the 5000 seat
arena stand face-to-face with international competitors and the
International WMC 'MAD' title belt - only this time with more
experience, more power, and a whole lot of heart.
Being the first tournament of the year and held in
one of the most grandeur venues in the heart of Africa, Cape Town
residents will have their fight cards filled as this world-class
combat is destined to set the tone for the rest of the year. Fresh
out of Asia after 2011's IFMA World Muaythai Championship in
Uzbekistan, Jarred Rothwell will face Thailand for the main event
in a 5 round bout for the International WMC 'Muaythai Against
Drugs' (MAD) title belt. Mkhululi 'MP3' Mlanjeni, from the
'Muaythai Against Drugs' development program for the
underprivileged children, will compete for the number one spot as
he continues towards his goal of entering his second IFMA World
Muaythai Championships (this time in Russia in late September this
year) . His fighting journey thus far has been documented and
compiled into a TV documentary soon to be released.
Also included in the night will be SA's top Pro MMA
fights which are guaranteed to provide entertainment for
everyone!

The Grandwest's GrandArena that will host a
different kind of beat this time as International UMF & DL MMA
Fight Night combines the thrill of a gloves-style card with live
entertainment, as the reason behind this event and the evening's
special attraction being the launch of Youth Leadership Training
Program (YLTP) in the Western Cape "The Sounds of Africa" supported
by Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Ambassadors of South Africa.
There will also be a variety other artists performing and
entertaining you, from the world's #1 Ubuntu B-Boyz to the Amybeihl
youth drummers and the one and only DJ Tariq Khan
A host of stars will join the event that is quickly
becoming a local favorite, such as Reality Show 'Way of the
Warrior' super star the evening's host Tapfuma Makina, as well as
special guest Quentin 'Dragon' Chong, Nong Head trainer of WMC
(World Muaythai Council) and International Reality Muaythai TV
shows 'The Challenger' and 'The Contender Asia' and many more.
